This class is for serious art students and will cover a wide variety of formal and expressive problems. We will use many media and combinations of media. The emphases will be on investment, skill development, problem solving, individual style, content and intellectual approach.

Each problem will be assigned in a handout listing formal objectives and required materials. The handout is to be taped in your sketchbook where I expect you to keep lecture notes and independent work.

 Grading criteria:

Investment in and completion of each assignment

Presentation of work on the critique date

  -Late work will be accepted one class late and will be graded down, accordingly

·     Non-participation in class activity will result in a drop.

·         Leaving early and coming late will affect your grade

·         Four consecutive absences will result in a drop, three absences will affect your grade

·         Not having the assigned materials will result in a drop

                                                               -Rudeness will not be tolerated
